Changes from September 2 to September 28, 2026
Copy for instructors:
Over the past several weeks we’ve been improving EdEHR and this update will provide a summary of the changes. You don’t have to do anything special unless you want to use the new approach for medication administration or the new ability to provide your students with supporting resources. If you do then contact us. Otherwise the following are fixing things or are additive improvements that should not impact workflow.
The dates beside the item’s tell you when the change was deployed.
Learning Object resource files — NEW (Sep 28)
Course designers can provide students with resources to complement their charting experience. You can now attach files (e.g. PDFs, images, text) to a Learning Object and these resources are available for students to download. Students can easily find these resources in the instructions dialog or the ‘Resources’ section on their activity page. Note that students only see these sections if a resource is available.
This is a new feature with tight limits on the number of files and size. Let EdEHR know if you like this feature and want more space.
Course designer improvement — record header direct edit — big time saver (Sep 4)
As a content creator are you tired of remembering to set the persona then the clock before editing to get the record’s header to match your design? Well, this release is for you and me both.
Now you can pop open a small record header editor and adjust day, time, persona and role. And the Persona field does a look ahead on the case study’s Care Team. Plus, if you type in a new name/role that persona is added to the Care Team so you can keep your case studies consistent.
Lock students from using the edit row button - limited to certain lab pages — optional setting (Sep 28)
Programs can prevent students from changing existing results on the Hematology, Chemistry and Urinalysis pages. Students can still add new entries. Contact EdEHR if you wish to have this feature enabled.
Case study and Learning Object lists (Sep 13)
The Case Study and Learning Object lists now have search, filters, paging and row action menus, and they remember your sort and filter when you come back. Case study search also finds patients by name, MRN, PHN or diagnosis.
SimTiming reminder for instructors (Sep 12)
If an activity is set up with SimTiming stages but SimTiming isn't active (for example after a Reset), the Activity page gently asks whether to turn it on.
