[V.2.4.25] Release Notes
Scheduled Deployment Date: December 13th 2024
We are pleased to introduce our latest update, featuring user interface enhancements, critical bug fixes, technical improvements, and a sneak peek at upcoming features.
User Interface Improvements
EHR Navigation List Scroll Behaviour
- Enhanced the left hand navigation menu to provide a more user-friendly experience. The menu now stays visible and synchronized with the current page, ensuring seamless access to all sections. For instance, selecting the MAR entry now keeps it in view, eliminating the need for excessive scrolling. This improvement simplifies the user interface and improves accessibility for students.
EHR Sign-On Dialog
- Reduced the size of the sign-on dialog box, bringing the accept and cancel buttons closer to the input fields. This improvement minimizes unnecessary mouse movement and enhances usability. Users can now access these buttons more efficiently, with improved visibility and accessibility for easier interaction.
Simplified Unlinked Page for Students
- Streamlined the content displayed on the "Unlinked Activity" page for students by reducing unnecessary text by 80%. Students now receive a concise warning to contact their instructor for further instructions, while instructors retain the ability to select appropriate content for the activity.
- Note that students will only see this page in the unlikely event that a new Activity is created and not linked to content. Normally, faculty will have made the connection ahead of time.
D2L Course Roll Over Improvement
- For D2L users, and to reduce manual effort for faculty during course rollovers, the system now automatically reconnects EHR content to activities in D2L. This enhancement leverages the ext_d2l_resource_link_id_history field in the LTI connection message to identify and re-establish links to original content. By simplifying this process, we save faculty significant time and ensure a smoother course setup experience. Note: This field is undocumented in D2L, and its future availability cannot be guaranteed.
Auto Enable SimTiming© on Activities
-
Streamlined the process for faculty by automatically enabling SimTiming© and selecting the first stage in Activities linked to Learning Objects with SimTiming stages. This enhancement simplifies simulation setup and ensures consistent student experiences.
Key Benefits:
Simplified Student Experience: SimTiming© now sets the simulation time automatically, allowing students to focus on the case study without managing simulation settings.
- Simplified Student Experience: SimTiming© now sets the simulation time automatically, allowing students to focus on the case study without managing simulation settings.
- Consistent Faculty Workflow: Faculty can create Learning Objects with SimTiming© knowing that all linked Activities will default to having SimTiming© enabled and the first stage preselected.
For those who prefer the previous behaviour, SimTiming© can be disabled in the Activity or omitted from the Learning Object configuration.
French translations
- Updates to several modules, including MAR, Vitals, Chest Tube, Integumentary, Fluid, and Allergies.
Bug Fixes
- Corrected a typo in the Demographics section where "Martial Status" was displayed instead of "Marital Status." The label now accurately reflects the intended meaning.
